Biperiden hydrochloride is a weak peripheral anticholinergic agent with antisecretory, antispasmodic, mydriatic and nicotinolytic activity. It exhibits competitive antagonism of acetylcholine (ACh) at the cholinergic receptors in the corpus striatum, thus restoring balance.
