Aspirin is a more potent inhibitor of both prostaglandin synthesis and platelet aggregation than its other salicylic derivatives due to the acetyl group on the aspirin molecule, which irreversibly inactivates cyclooxygenase via acetylation [28]. This prevents the conversion of arachidonic acid to thromboxane A(2). Platelet aggregation is inhibited for their lifespan of 7 to 10 days.

Elimination Half Life: 20 to 60 minutes

Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs.
Syndrome of asthma, rhinitis, and nasal polyps; severe urticaria, angioedema, or bronchospasm may occur.

Fetal risk can not be ruled out.

Avoided.

GI upset.

Usual oral dose: 75-325mg daily

Renal impairment, severe (GFR<10 mL/min): Avoid use

Hepatic impairment, severe: Avoid use
