Amlodipine/atorvastatin combines two mechanisms of action: the dihydropyridine calcium antagonist (calcium ion antagonist or slow-channel blocker) action of amlodipine and the HMG-CoA reductase inhibition of atorvastatin.

1. Hypersensitivity to amlodipine, atorvastatin, or any component of the formulation
2. Active liver disease; unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases
3. Pregnancy (or those who may become pregnant); breast-feeding

X; Use is contraindicated in pregnancy

Use is contraindicated in breastfeeding women.

Dosage:
Initial one tab once daily; dose may be titrated after 1-2 weeks (amlodipine component) and after 2-4 weeks (atorvastatin component) to a maximum daily dose.
Administration:
May be administered without regard to meals, may take without regard to time of day.

No dosage adjustment necessary.

1. Initiate amlodipine at 2.5 mg once daily in patients with hepatic impairment.
2. Use is contraindicated in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases.
