眼用抗感染 Treatment of herpes simplex infections in immuno-compromised patients.

Acyclovir is a synthetic purine nucleoside analog with inhibitory activity against herpes simplex virus types 1 (HSV-1), 2 (HSV-2), and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). Acyclovir triphosphate, a converted form of acyclovir, stops replication of herpes viral DNA by competitive inhibition of viral DNA polymerase, incorporation into and termination of the growing viral DNA chain, and inactivation of the viral DNA polymerase.

Hypersensitivity, use with caution in patients with abnormal renal function.

C , Estimated that in 7500 cases, no adverse effects attributable to the drug have been reported.

Safe. It is concentrated in human milk, no adverse effects of the exposure were observed in infant. Milk/plasma ratios have varied from 0.6-4.1.

Allergic reaction. Vision may be blurred for 5 to 10 minutes after application.

The usual dose is 1cm (about ? an inch) ofoint applied to the infected eye five times a day.
