藥理
Escitalopram, the S-enantiomer of citalopram, is a selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and an antidepressant.
藥動學
禁忌症
Concurrent or recent (i.e., within 2 weeks) therapy with a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor. Concomitant use with pimozide. Known hypersensitivity to escitalopram, citalopram, or any ingredient in the formulation.
懷孕分類
C. Escitalopram crosses the placenta and is distributed into the amniotic fluid.
哺乳分類
Escitalopram is distributed into human milk. Because of the potential for serious adverse effects (e.g., excessive somnolence, decreased feeding, weight loss) in nursing infants, caution should be exercised and nursing infants should be observed for adverse reactions when escitalopram is administered to a nursing woman.
副作用
Insomnia, nausea, increased sweating, sexual dysfunction (ejaculation disorder [primarily ejaculatory delay], decreased libido, anorgasmia), fatigue, and somnolence.

Acute management of major depressive disorder or generalized anxiety disorder: Initial 10 mg QD; may be increased to 20 mg daily after a minimum of 1 week.

Children <12 years: Limited data available. Children and Adolescents >12 years: Initial 10 mg QD; may be increased to 20 mg/day after at least 3 weeks.
腎功能調整劑量
Dosage adjustment in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment is not necessary, but the drug should be used with caution in those with severe renal impairment.
肝功能調整劑量
The recommended dosage of escitalopram in most geriatric patients and those with hepatic impairment is 10 mg once daily.
