Intravenous Nutritional Therapy

1. Maximum effect: (Treatment of hyperkalemia, IV) 30 minutes
2. Metabolism: Metabolized to carbon dioxide and water

1. Hypersensitivity to dextrose, corn or corn products, or any component of the formulation
2. Delirium tremens (if dehydrated); severe dehydration
3. Clinically significant hyperglycemia; anuria; hepatic coma

Appropriate use of dextrose injection would not be expected to cause adverse developmental outcomes to the fetus when used during pregnancy.
