止痛消炎口服 Fever, headache, migraine, osteoarthritis, pain, primary dysmenorrhea, rheumatoid arthritis.

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits analgesic and antipyretic activities by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.

Tmax, adults, oral: 1 to 2 hours
Effects of food: Tmax increased from 1.34 to 1.96 hours with single dose

Liver; rapidly metabolized

[Excretion]
Renal: 45% to 79% as metabolites, 1% unchanged
Clearance, pediatrics: 1172.5 mL/hr (6 months to less than 2 years); 1967.3 mL/hr (2 to less than 6 years); 4878.5 mL/hr (6 to 16 years)

[Elimination Half Life]
Adults, 1.8 to 2.44 hours
Pediatrics: 1.5 to 1.8 hours

Asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reaction following aspirin or other NSAID administration. (severe and sometimes fatal anaphylactic reactions have been reported)
In the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any component of the product.

[Osteoarthritis] 1200 to 3200 mg/day PO divided in 3 to 4 doses; for non-prescription dosing

[Primary dysmenorrhea] 400 mg PO Q4H as needed; for non-prescription dosing

(2 y/o and older) administer each dose PO Q6-8H as needed:
* for 10.6-15.9 kg or 2-3 y/o, 100 mg
* for 16-21.3 kg or 4-5 y/o, 150 mg
* for 21.4-26.8 kg or 6-8 y/o, 200 mg
* for 26.9-32.2 kg or 9-10 y/o, 250 mg
* for 32.3-43 kg or 11 y/o, 300 mg

[Pain] Non-prescription dosing
(6 months to 12 y/o), 5-10 mg/kg PO Q6-8H as needed, MAX 4 doses/day;
(12 y/o and older), 200-400 mg PO Q4-6H as needed, MAX 1200 mg/day

[Rheumatoid arthritis] for non-prescription dosing, 30-50 mg/kg/day PO in 3 to 4 divided doses; MAX 2.4 g/day

Initiate with the lowest recommended dosage, monitor patient closely and reduce dosage if necessary.

Nil.

May be given with food or milk; shake the suspension well before measuring dose.
Store suspension at controlled room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees C.
