Endocrine metabolic: Hyperglycemia (5% ), Serum triglycerides raised (3% ). Gastrointestinal: Abdominal pain (4% ), Flatulence (4% ), Vomiting (Up to 7% ). Endocrine metabolic: Aluminum toxicity, Hypertriglyceridemia, Refeeding syndrome. Hepatic: Disease of liver, Parenteral nutrition associated. Immunologic: Hypersensitivity reaction, Infection associated with device (2% ), Sepsis.

Initial dose: 1-1.5 g/kg/day (not to exceed 500 mL Intralipid 10% or 20% or 330 mL Intralipid 30% [over 4-6 hours] on the first day of therapy); daily dose may be infused over 12-24 hours; maximum daily dose: 2.5 g/kg/day
