止吐注射 (antiemetics IV) Nausea, vomiting, excessive anxiety, relatively mild psychiatric conditions & moderate to severe psychiatric conditions.

Prochlorperazine inhibits apomorphine-induced vomiting and has been shown to directly affect the medullary chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ), apparently by blocking dopamine receptors in the CTZ.

Following IM administration of prochlorperazine edisylate, the drug has an onset of action within 10–20 minutes and a duration of action of 3–4 hours.

Coma, drug-induced CNS depression, bone marrow depression.

Extrapyramidal symptoms, CNS depression, deep sleep, coma, agitation, convulsions, hypotension, restlessness.

Adults: IM 5-10mg to start, repeated Q3-4H as needed, up to 40 mg/day. Children:IM 0.13 mg/kg.
