【藥品性質提示】 根據 2019 AGS Beers Criteria，本藥品為【潛在不適當用藥 (PIM)】，不建議老年人長期使用。 GFR <30 mL/min 以下之慢性腎臟疾病病人，建議勿處方本品 (NSAID)。

止痛消炎口服 Dysmenorrhea; Acute Pain

Mefenamic acid is a nonsteroidal drug with analgesic, antiinflammatory, and antipyretic activity. The precise mechanism of action is not known but is thought to be related to prostaglandin synthetase inhibition.

Elimination Half Life: 2h

1. Known hypersensitivity to mefenamic acid or any component of the product.
2. History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reaction following aspirin or other NSAID administration.
3. In the setting of CABG surgery.

Fetal risk cannot be ruled out

Infant risk cannot be ruled out.(MDX)

Common:
1. Dermatologic: Pruritus, Rash
2. Gastrointestinal: Abdominal pain, Constipation, Diarrhea, Flatulence, Heartburn, Indigestion, Nausea, Vomiting
3. Neurologic: Dizziness, Headache
4. Otic: Tinnitus
Serious:
1. Cardiovascular: Hypertension, Myocardial infarction
2. Dermatologic: Erythroderma, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Toxic epidermal necrolysis
3. Endocrine metabolic: Hyperkalemia
4. Gastrointestinal: Gastrointestinal hemorrhage, Gastrointestinal perforation, Gastrointestinal ulcer, Inflammatory disorder of digestive tract
5. Hepatic: Hepatic necrosis, Increased liver function test
6. Immunologic: Anaphylaxis
7. Neurologic: Cerebrovascular accident
8. Renal: Nephrotoxicity
9. Respiratory: Acute exacerbation of asthma

Dysmenorrhea:
Initial, 500 mg orally; followed by 250 mg every 6 hours, beginning at onset of bleeding and symptoms, and continued for 2 to 3 days
Fever:
500 mg orally at onset of fever, may repeat every 6 hours as needed
Pain, acute, Mild to moderate:
Initial, 500 mg orally; followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as needed, usually not longer than 1 week.

(14 years or older) Initial, 500 mg orally; followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as needed, usually not longer than 1 week .

Should not administer to patients with preexisting renal disease or in patients with significant renal impairment.

Patients with acute or chronic hepatic impairment may require reduced doses .
