眼用抗感染 For treatment of eye infections caused by strains of microorganisms susceptible to sulfamethoxazole, such as Trachoma, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, E. coli.

Sulfamethoxazole is an intermediate-acting sulfonamide derivative, with competitive antagonists of paraaminobenzoic acid (PABA). Sulfonamides prevent normal bacterial utilization of PABA for synthesis of folic acid (pteroylglutamic acid; PGA), which is required for bacterial DNA synthesis.
