Symptomatic relief of muscular spasm, chorea, athetosis, tetanus

Chlorzoxazone is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant. Chlorzoxazone is a CNS depressant which has sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant effects.

Absorption:rapidly and completely absorbed; onset: within 1 hour; duration: 3–4 hours
Metabolism: liver; metabolized to 6-hydroxychlorzoxazone (inactive)
Excretion: <1% as unchanged in urine within 24 hours
Elimination half-life: 66 minutes

Patients with impaired liver function, intolerance.

The safe use of Chlorzoxazone has not been established with respect to the possible adverse effects upon fetal development. Therefore, it should be used in women of childbearing potential only when, in the judgment of the physician, the potential benefits outweigh the possible risks.

Nausea, vomiting, heartburn, constipation, abdominal discomfort, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, jaundice.

250 to 750 mg orally 3 to 4 times a day

125 to 500 mg orally 3 to 4 times a day.
