Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and poliovirus disease prevention

Promotes active immunity to diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and poliovirus (types 1, 2 and 3) by inducing production of specific antibodies and antitoxins.

Severe allergic reaction (eg, anaphylaxis) after a previous dose of any diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, pertussis-containing vaccine, or inactivated poliovirus vaccine, or to any component of DTaP/IPV, including neomycin and polymyxin B; encephalopathy (eg, coma, decreased level of consciousness, prolonged seizures) within 7 days of administration of a previous dose of a pertussis-containing vaccine that is not attributable to another identifiable cause; progressive neurologic disorder, including infantile spasms, uncontrolled epilepsy, or progressive encephalopathy.(UTD)

Vaccination for diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus:
(6 weeks to younger than 7 years) 0.5 mL IM for 5 doses at 2, 4, and 6 months of age (at 6- to 8-week intervals), at 15 to 20 months, and at 4 to 6 years. Doses 4 and 5 are boosters for diphtheria and tetanus and dose 5 is a booster for pertussis
(Booster) If 4 doses of Pentacel(R) have been administered, give Daptacel(R) 0.5 mL IM as the fifth dose
(6 weeks to younger than 7 years) 0.5 mL IM for 5 doses at 2, 4, and 6 months of age, and boosters at 15 to 18 months and at 4 to 6 years; fourth dose may be given as early as age 12 months provided 6 months have elapsed since the third dose
(4 years or older) If fourth dose administered at 4 years or older, do not administer fifth dose .

Store between 2 to 8 degrees.
