Thrombolytic agent
Acts on the endogenous fibrinolytic system which converts plasminogen to enzyme plasmin. This enzyme is responsible for the degradation of fibrin clots, fibrinogen, and other plasma proteins.

1. Active bleeding (intracranial hemorrhage, hemoptysis, retroperitoneal hemorrhage)
2. Aneurysm
3. Severe disturbance of consciousness

Bleeding, shock, hypersensitivity, serum GOT or GPT increase, GI disturbance, headache, malaise

Initial 60,000 to 240,000 IU on the first day, then gradually decrease dosage for total up to 7 days

Has not been studied in children <18 years of age

Use with caution in severe renal impairment patients

Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment patients
