Absorption:oral bioavailability is approximately 100%Distribution:highly bound to plasma proteins (approximately 92%)Metabolism:Etoricoxib is primarily metabolised in the liver, mainly via CYP3A4. Excretion:Etoricoxib is eliminated mainly as metabolites in urine and faeces.

■ hypersensitivity to any component of this product. A history of asthma, urticaria or other allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. ■ congestive heart failure (NYHA II-IV). ■ hypertension whose blood pressure is persistently elevated above 140/90mmHg and has not been adequately controlled. ■ established ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease and/or cerebrovascular disease (including patients who have recently undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery or angioplasty). ■ severe hepatic dysfunction (serum albumin < 25 g/l or Child-Pugh score ? 10). ■ active peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. ■ estimated creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min.

Etoricoxib is excreted in the milk of lactating rats. A decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug.

Osteoarthritis: 30 mg once daily (maximum dose 60 mg/day) Rheumatoid Arthritis: 60 mg or 90 mg once daily. The lowest effective daily dose is 60 mg. Ankylosing Spondylitis: 60 mg or 90 mg once daily. The lowest effective daily dose is 60 mg. Acute Gouty Arthritis: 120 mg once daily (? 8 days) Primary Dysmenorrhea: 120 mg once daily (? 8 days) Post-dental surgery pain: 90 mg once daily (maximum dose ? 90 mg/day)(? 3 days) Post-gynecological surgery pain: 90 mg once daily. The starting dose should be administered before surgery. (maximum dose ? 120 mg/day)(? 5 days)

Safety and effectiveness in patients below 18 years have not been established.

Not recommended in patients with CrCl < 30 mL/min. No adjustment required if CrCl ? 30 mL/min.

Mild impairment (Child-Pugh 5–6): max 60 mg/day Moderate impairment (Child-Pugh 7–9): 60 mg every other day Severe impairment: contraindicated
