Patient with closed epiphyses and any progression of an underlying intracranial lesion or actively growing intracranial tumor; hypersensitivity to somatropin, mammalian-derived or any of its excipients; patients with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Somatropin therapy has been associated with the development of hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

Growth hormone deficiency: Saizen: 0.06 mg/kg SC or IM 3 times/week
Genotropin: 0.16-0.24 mg/kg /week SC
Humatrope: 0.18-0.3 mg/kg/week SC.
The conversion of international units or mU to milligrams is 3:1. Mean maintenance dosages of 0.15 to 0.25 mU/kg/ week are equivalent to 0.05 to 0.08 mg/kg/ week

Reconstituted solution of somatropin can keep bioactivity up to 2 weeks when stored at 2-8℃. Frosen solution should not be used.
