Parenteral nutrition for adult patients when oral or enteral nutrition is impossible, insufficient or contraindicated

1. Offer 1006 kcal per bag; Contains three major nutrients (glucose 103 gm, amino acid 46g, Smoflipid 41gm), and electrolytes (Na+ 36 mmol, K+ 28 mmol, Mg++ 4.6 mmol, Ca++ 2.3 mmol, Zinc 0.03mmol, phosphate 11.9 mmol, Cl 32 mmol, sulphate 4.6 mmol, and acetate 96 mmol).
2. Amino acids component includes essential AA (41.4%), branched chain AA (18.6%) and taurine (0.46gm).

Dosage:
1. General dose in adults: 20-40 ml/kg/day, MAX 40 ml/kg/day.
2. In obese patients: the dose should be based on the estimated ideal weight.
Administration:
1. The contents of the three separate chambers have to be mixed before use.
2. The infusion rate should not exceed 2.0 ml/kg/hr, and the recommended infusion period is 14-24 hrs.
