1. Absorption: After topical administration, the drug is rapidly metabolized in the eye to its active moiety, latanoprost acid. 2. Metabolism: Latanoprost acid is primarily metabolized by the liver via fatty acid $\beta$-oxidation. The other metabolite, butanediol mononitrate, is metabolized to 1,4-butanediol and nitric oxide. 3. Elimination: Latanoprost acid is rapidly cleared from human plasma, typically dropping below the limit of quantitation within 15 minutes post-administration.
